Consultancy BenchPress 2026: The event where consultancy leaders stop guessing

Consultancy BenchPress LIVE isn’t just about the data we share. It’s about the decisions that the data enables, the second-guessing it removes, and what consultancy leaders will do differently (faster, more efficiently, and with more confidence) as a result.

The annual Consultancy BenchPress LIVE event is probably the most useful afternoon a consultancy founder or SLT member will spend in a year. Because everyone in the room gets to properly see what’s going on in their firm, discuss with experts and peers what that means for them, and leave with a plan they didn’t know they needed.

Importantly, Consultancy BenchPress isn’t a survey for survey’s sake. Over 350 consultancy leaders have told us exactly what’s going on in their business, what’s working and what isn’t, and we’ve identified where the gaps are that impact performance. Having analysed over 15,000 data points, Peter Czapp, founder of The Wow Company, didn’t just present the results at Consultancy BenchPress LIVE, he kept asking the questions consultancy leaders need to ask themselves to know what to do about it.

“Loved having the opportunity to debate these findings with peers, grill the experts, and map out our next steps with a lot more market confidence” – Mei Law, Felber

Peter talked about the gap in performance between those consultancies fully implementing AI and those trialling it, about the difference in gross margin between those never discounting and those always dropping their prices, about how their level of marketing spend impacts confidence, and much more. And what was really interesting to watch was the room going from ‘that’s a bit uncomfortable…’ to ‘right, here’s what I’m going to do about it’.

Because Peter’s presentations were only a part of the afternoon. A lot of time was allowed for roundtable discussions, with Growth Experts who have grown and sold their own consultancies and who really understand what the data means. And with peers, who didn’t just nod politely, but who sometimes disagreed, pushed back, challenged with empathy and shared their experiences, similar and different.

“What made the day so valuable wasn’t just the benchmarking data itself, but the conversations it sparked. Hearing how other consultancies are navigating many of the same challenges – growth, business development, pricing, client relationships and AI – was both reassuring and thought-provoking.” – Liz Sebag-Montefiore, 10Eighty

As one of our Growth Experts commented, “Peter doesn’t just present the numbers. He hands you the question you need to ask yourself next.”

And that was what stood out. People weren’t just listening to the data, they were working out what it meant for them.

A stat would land, Peter would ask a question, and suddenly the tables were comparing notes. How are you handling that? Are you seeing the same thing? What have you tried?

The pricing data was one of those moments. One member wrote: “DO NOT DISCOUNT” in capital letters in their notebook. It sounds simple, but it summed up a lot of what was happening in the room. The data made the cost of discounting hard to ignore, and Peter’s questions pushed people to think about why price gets reduced in the first place: lack of confidence, unclear value, or a deal that feels too close to lose.

The AI discussion had the same energy. Lots of firms are experimenting, but far fewer have really worked out what it means across the whole business. So ff your AI strategy currently lives in one enthusiastic team member’s browser tabs, you weren’t alone in that room – and you wouldn’t have been alone in the debate about it either.

That’s the bit the report alone can’t quite give you.

“It was a great way to spend the afternoon, discussing these insights, in a room full of brilliant people. Certainly lots to think about.” – Georgia Enright – Octopus Consulting

Attendees didn’t just walk away with a report under their arm and a few interesting stats to think about. They left with sharper questions, clearer priorities and a better sense of what needed to change.

“What a fabulous afternoon. TCGN really is developing into a very important part of our world and is having an extremely positive influence on our company.” – Andrew Corbett-Nolan, Good Governance

That’s exactly what we want this event to do. Not just inform consultancy leaders but help them move forward with more confidence.

You don’t have to have been in the room to start asking better questions about your consultancy.

The abridged Consultancy BenchPress 2026 report gives you a clear view of how UK&I consultancies are performing, where the strongest firms are pulling ahead, and what that might mean for your own decisions around growth, pricing, marketing, clients and AI.

It’s one thing knowing where the market is, but it’s even more valuable knowing what you need to do next.

Download the abridged report, see where you compare, and then decide what you’re going to do about it.

If you’re a TCGN member or completed the 2026 survey, you already have the exclusive full report in your inbox.
